01How Word Guess works
Type any real 5-letter word as your first guess. Every tile then changes color to tell you how close you are.
Use what each row tells you on the next one: keep the greens where they are, move the golds somewhere new and stay away from the greys. You have 6 tries to crack it.
- Green: right letter, right spot
- Gold: in the word, but somewhere else
- Grey: not in the word at all
02One daily word, or as many as you like
The daily word is the same for everyone that day, so you can compare notes, share your result and keep your win streak alive.
Want more? Pick your own word length and level and keep going. Short words for a quick round, long ones when you fancy a proper think.
Or make it personal with a Word Duel: same word, two boards, fewest guesses wins. Your friend can jump in without an account.
03Tips for cracking it faster
Open with a word full of common letters and no repeats, like CRANE, SLATE or ROAST. Your first row is for gathering clues, not for winning.
Got a gold letter? Your next guess should move it, not keep it in the same spot. And remember that letters can repeat: ANNOY has two Ns.
