The daily puzzle uses Luma's core word-connect grid: trace answers on the wheel and complete the crossword. Your board state is saved, so a short interruption does not erase the attempt.
The daily riddle is a separate compact prompt with saved attempts and solved history. It is useful when you want a word challenge without opening a full board.
Daily activity contributes to streaks, milestone celebrations, and the yearly heat map. Streak shields can recover a missed day, so one busy evening does not have to end a longer habit.
Skipping the daily riddle does not put the main streak at risk. The goal is a repeatable rhythm, not pressure to complete every surface.
Words discovered in daily play can join the same bank as campaign words. Later, Crick can bring due vocabulary back through flashcards or a short active-recall quiz.
