01What spaced repetition means in Luma
A word returns sooner when you miss it and waits longer when you recall it correctly. Luma doubles successful intervals and shortens missed ones, concentrating the session on vocabulary that needs more attention.
This schedule runs quietly behind the word bank. You do not have to choose dates, sort decks, or calculate the next review yourself.
02Flashcards or active recall
Flashcards are useful when you want to browse definitions and examples. The SRS quiz asks you to retrieve the answer, which gives the scheduler stronger feedback about what you remember.
Crick surfaces due sessions on the home screen, but reviewing remains optional. You can always return to a puzzle instead.
03Track knowledge, not exposure
The mastery meter groups reviewed vocabulary from CEFR A1 through C1. A word does not count as mastered merely because it appeared on a completed board.
Weekly summaries, review streaks, and the activity heat map make consistency visible without changing the core word-game progression.
